7 - New Features, Tips & Tricks Held on August 27th

features of Microsoft's latest computer operating system, Windows 7,
along with tips & tricks to help you get things done on your computer
and Q & A.

TechAge Open House
The
TechAge Learning Center held a free open house
on Thursday, April 29th from 1 - 3 pm. Our dozens of guests saw
how TechAge offers "Computer
classes for adults, taught by adults.".
They enjoyed demonstrations, plus snacks.
TechAge is located at the JCC, 1200 Edgewood Avenue, Rochester, NY
14618. JCC membership is not required.
iTunes/iPhone/iPod Seminar
What: Steve Rea, Keith Jackson and Rick Harrison of the
Apple CIDER computer users group showed us the amazing things
you can do with the free iTunes application, iPhones and iPods.

How to Access Medical Information on the
Internet

What was covered: This hands-on, in-the-lab session is designed to help
individuals search for reliable information on the Internet and become
more informed health care consumers.

PROGRAM: TechAge volunteers
Dave Lum and Michael Slade revealed why eBay is so popular as a way
to do business. In this seminar, guests learned how to use eBay's
website to set up your shopping account, and buy and sell. This
was
an introductory overview seminar, providing a summary of how you
yourself can go online, and be safely buying and selling.

Skype – Use your PC
for Free Internet Phone & Video Calls

PROGRAM:
TechAge volunteer Dave Lum showed attendees how to use Skype, a free
Internet service to make FREE video and telephone calls from your
computer to another computer. You can chat with old friends around the
world or visit with the new grandchild in California using Skype and it
is all free.
